Tapping into the wisdom and knowledge of God
Wouldn’t it be great if there was always someone we could go to to get answers to all of our questions? Questions about what is true and false. Questions about what is right and wrong. Questions about which option is the best option. Questions about how to do this or that. Questions about God and the spiritual realm. Questions about the afterlife. Questions about where the world came from and where it is going. Questions about how to handle this or that situation. The list goes on and on. It certainly would be wonderful if there was always someone to go to who had all the correct answers to all our questions. Well, fortunately, as it turns out, there actually is someone to go to who has the answers to any and all questions that we could ever have – namely, God.
God knows everything about everything, and He wants to help us in our quest for answers. He even gave us a book that is filled with many of these answers if people would only read the book and believe it. Of course, I am talking about the Holy Bible, which is God’s Word to man. The Bible is true from Genesis to Revelation, and it answers a lot of the questions that we have in life. It certainly doesn’t answer every question that comes up in life, but it gives us a starting point toward getting answers to all our questions. For getting answers to other questions that aren’t answered in the Bible, God gives us His Spirit, the Holy Spirit. We receive the Holy Spirit through faith in God’s only begotten Son, Jesus Christ. When we first believe in Jesus as God’s only begotten Son, the Holy Spirit comes into our soul and begins to help us with answers to our questions. Theoretically, there is no question we might have that the Holy Spirit won’t help to answer. So that when we study and believe the Holy Bible and have the God’s Holy Spirit working in our life, we can theoretically get answers to any and all questions that we have. However, admittedly, it is possible that there may be just a few things God doesn’t want us to know this side of heaven.
Once we have the Bible in our hand and the Holy Spirit in our heart, there is pretty much nothing that we can’t understand. Studying and believing the Bible will help us to develop a Biblical worldview, which is the correct worldview and God’s worldview. Any worldviews out there that contradict the Bible are incorrect. And the Holy Spirit will help us to understand the Bible correctly. When we tap into the wisdom and knowledge of God’s Word, the Bible, we can get an excellent perspective on life. And we can also get answers to many of our questions about life.
However, when we have questions about how to spend our time, such as where to live, what kind of work to do, whether to get married and if so whom to marry, what activities to do with our family and friends, how to invest intelligently, who to listen to and who not to listen to, etcetera, then we need to rely on the Holy Spirit within us. The Holy Spirit will guide our life and help us to make wise decisions. The Holy Spirit will illuminate our mind so that we can see things more from God’s perspective. And if we ask God in prayer to help us with our decision-making, He will definitely help us to make the best decisions that we can.
The Holy Spirit within us also gives us a learning mind. Through the Holy Spirit, we are able to absorb more knowledge and learn more quickly than if we didn’t have the Holy Spirit. And through the Holy Spirit, we are able to learn and understand difficult concepts that many other people are not able to understand. Jesus referred to the Holy Spirit as the “Spirit of truth” who will “guide you into all truth” (John 16:13). The Holy Spirit helps us to take our life in the right direction, and through the Holy Spirit, we have the potential to be the most intelligent people on earth.
If we are filled with the Holy Spirit as the Bible tells us to be (Ephesians 5:18), then we will receive God’s answers to most of our important questions in life. We will be able to make wise decisions most of the time, and hopefully have an enjoyable life in addition. John 3:34 tells us that God gives the Holy Spirit without measure. When we walk with God through life, studying the Bible and endeavoring to do God’s will, God fills us more and more with the Holy Spirit, making us wiser and wiser as we go through life. And the wiser we become in life, in general, the freer and happier we become as well.
